Legal
Terms & conditions.
These are the terms you agree to when you book a table, buy a cinema ticket, order a cake or hire the cart from us. They sit alongside your legal rights as a consumer, which nothing here takes away.
If something here does not seem right for your situation, call us on 01883 338331. We are a small family business and we would rather sort it out than argue about a clause.

Using this website
You are welcome to use this site to look at what we make, book, and order. Please do not try to break it, scrape it, or use it to send anyone anything unlawful.
We keep the site accurate and up to date as best we can, but flavours change daily and occasionally something here will be out of date before we have caught it. If a detail matters to you, whether a particular flavour, an allergen or an opening time, please check with us before you travel.
03
Booking a table
A table booking is a request until we confirm it. Once confirmed, please arrive within fifteen minutes of your time. After that we may need to give the table to someone else on a busy evening.
There is no charge to book and no charge to cancel. If your plans change, tell us as early as you can so we can offer the table to someone else.
Booking a section rather than a table takes a £30 deposit. It comes straight off your bill on the day and if you cancel, you get it back in full. Same as every other deposit we take: see deposits and cancelling.

Why there are maximums
Every booking on this site has a ceiling, and the booking form will tell you when a group is over it. The numbers are not arbitrary and they are not us being awkward.
- Fire regulations. Each parlour has a fixed occupancy, set by the fire risk assessment for that building. It counts everyone inside, staff included, and it is the one number we cannot negotiate with.
- Health and safety. Walkways, exits and the area behind the counter have to stay clear. A room packed past its layout is not a room anyone can leave quickly.
- Staffing. A party is run by our team, not left to look after itself, and the ratio of staff to guests is what makes it good rather than chaotic. We would rather turn a booking down than take one we cannot serve properly.
If your group is over a maximum, it is usually a bespoke event rather than a no. Ask us and we will tell you honestly what is possible.
05
Cinema tickets
Tickets are £15.00 per person, the same price whatever your age, and include entry to the film, any dessert and any drink. Doors 15 minutes before.
- Family showings need at least one child on the booking. Each grown-up books with at least one child, except on our 18+ nights.
- Showings marked 18+ are for adults only and we may ask for ID.
- Up to 10 tickets per booking. For a larger group, get in touch and we will arrange it.
- Screenings are small, between 20 and 26 seats, and seating is general admission, arranged so children can see the screen.
If we have to cancel a showing, you get a full refund or a seat at another date, whichever you prefer.
06
Gelato cakes
Cakes start at £32.99 and are made to order by Maria and the team.
- We need 72 hours’ notice. We cannot make a cake faster than that, however much we would like to.
- Cakes are collection only, from Oxted. We do not deliver them, and we do not post them.
- Your cake is ready on the date you chose. Gelato does not keep at room temperature, so please collect at your slot and take it straight home.
- A cake is made specifically for you, which means the usual fourteen-day right to change your mind about an online purchase does not apply to it.
We will always tell you what is in your cake. See allergens below.

Deposits, holding a date and cancelling
What you pay to hold a date
A children’s party, a bespoke event at the parlour, the gelato cart, a brand activation: anything that takes a date out of our diary is held with a £100 deposit. It is the same £100 whichever you book, and it comes off your final bill.
On a party or standard cart hire you can pay the whole thing up front instead, if you would rather. A bespoke event or a corporate booking has no total yet, which is what the call is for, so the £100 is all there is to pay until we have quoted you.
The deposit is fully refundable
If you cancel, you get your £100 back in full, whenever you cancel and whatever the reason. There is no deadline on that and no cancellation charge. If you have already paid more than the deposit, you get that back too, with one exception below.
A gelato cake is the exception, because it is made for your day and we start it as soon as you order. The cake follows the cake rules: cancel more than 72 hours before and it is refunded in full, inside 72 hours it is already made, so it is yours to come and collect. See gelato cakes.
We would still rather know early. A Saturday we have held for you is a Saturday we have turned other work away for, so if your plans change, telling us as soon as you know is a kindness rather than an obligation.
Moving the date is easier than cancelling and we will always try, subject to us being free and to the same £100 carrying over.
If we cannot make it, whether a breakdown, illness or a freezer failure, you get everything back, including the deposit.
Enquiries
You do not have to pay anything to talk to us. The enquiry forms on the cart hire, weddings and activations pages cost nothing and commit you to nothing. We come back with availability and a quote, and you decide then.
For cart hire and activations, nothing beyond the deposit is charged until we have sent you a quote and you have accepted it in writing. The quote sets out the date, the hours, what is included, travel, and anything we need from the venue.
08
Prices and payment
Prices on this site are in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies. We try hard to keep them right, but if something is obviously mispriced we will contact you before taking any money rather than either honouring an error or charging you more without asking.
Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
09
Changes, cancellations and refunds
Cinema tickets
Tell us at least 48 hours before the showing and you can have a full refund, or move to another date. Inside 48 hours we cannot refund, because the screening is small and a seat given up that late does not get filled. We will still move you to another date if we manage to sell it.
If you simply cannot come, send someone else in your place. Just tell us the name beforehand. There is no charge for that.
Gelato cakes
Change or cancel more than 72 hours before your collection date and there is no charge: a full refund, or change whatever you like about it.
Inside 72 hours we have already started making it, and a cake built to your flavours cannot be sold to anyone else, so we cannot refund it. It is still yours, so come and collect it.
Cakes are held for the rest of the day you chose. Gelato does not survive longer than that out of our freezers, so a cake nobody collects cannot be refunded or remade.
If something is wrong with it
Tell us on the day and we will put it right, whatever the rest of this section says: a refund, a remake or a replacement, whichever you would rather have.
Whatever that policy says, it does not affect your legal rights. If something we sold you is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose, you are entitled to a refund, repair or replacement under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and we will sort it out.
If we cancel, whether bad weather, illness or a freezer failure, you get a full refund or an alternative date, your choice.

Allergens and dietary information
This one matters, so please read it. Every item on our menu carries allergen codes, and we list what each item is suitable for separately from what it contains. The two are not the same thing and we never merge them.
- Both parlours are small kitchens handling nuts, milk, gluten, soya, eggs and sesame. We take care, but we cannot guarantee that any item is free from traces of an allergen.
- If you have a serious allergy, please speak to the team in the parlour before you order. They know what changed this morning; a website does not.
- Recipes and suppliers change. The codes here are kept current but the board in the shop is the final word.
- For a bespoke cake, tell us about the allergy when you order, not on collection day. We will tell you honestly if we cannot make it safely.

What you send us
If you send us a CV or an application video, you keep it. We use it only to consider your application, we do not publish it, and we delete it as set out in our privacy policy.
If you tag us on social media or send us a photo for us to share, please only send things you took or have permission to use.
12
Our liability
We are responsible for loss you suffer as a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care.
We do not limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit, which includes your rights over the food we sell you.
We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses, since we supply to consumers for personal use.

Our words and pictures
The photography, illustration, wording and design on this site belong to us. You are welcome to share a link to any page. Please ask before reproducing our photographs or copy elsewhere.

Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes can be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your own courts.
